Biographical Info:
jan._2011_html_66dc00caweb.pngBjorn Bjorholm was first introduced to bonsai at the age of 13 and has since founded the Knoxville Bonsai Society and developed the annual Tennessee Bonsai Show.  In 2001, Bjorvala Bonsai Studio was created in order to provide pre-bonsai material and beginner level classes to individuals wanting to get started in the art.  Today, however, the studio functions as a promoter of classical Japanese bonsai design through a wide array of classes and offered plant material. In order to further develop his skills and understanding of the art, Bjorn left for Japan to become a full-time bonsai apprentice at Fujikawa Kouka-en in Osaka.  Under the guidance of Master Keiichi Fujikawa, Bjorn worked to broaden his knowledge and understanding of bonsai, and in time, many of his works were accepted into the Kokufu-ten, Taikan-ten, and Sakufu-ten exhibitions during the course of his apprenticeship.  Today, Bjorn is teaching and sharing his experiences with others around the world, and he continues to return to Japan on a regular basis to further his studies of the art.
